Disappearing cursor when using color picker

Using a MacBook Pro mid-2012 lemon

Some reported this happening with non Apple apps, for me this only occurs using Pages. It has been happening for quite some time, but I don't often need to deal with it and when I do am in a rush and can't take the time to seek help or post, until today.

When I am using the color picker's water dropper tool as soon as I select the color the cursor disappears. Previously, I could make it return by moving to a different window and selecting a different app so that the machine 'let go' of Pages, and then I could return to Pages and the cursor would be visible. However, today I had to save the document using a shortcut and close the app using another because the cursor wasn't visible on any window nor on any app. I still can't see it and I'm going to have to shut down this lemon in hopes that when I restart it I'll finally see the cursor. Right now, I'm doing everthing without it--Thanks to Jesus, I actually have enough shortcuts memorized to do this, but it is affecting my work and I'm not completing necessary tasks in enough time.

Help!
