Removing a podcast from iTunes

Hello,

I am currently trying to remove a podcast that is hosted at Blubrry.com from the iTunes directory so that we can launch the new version of the show from Libsyn.com

What is the best way to ensure that the old show is completely removed from all platforms to prevent directory issues?

Thanks in advance!

The best thing to do is the following:

  1. Import all the episodes you want into Libsyn from your current RSS feed.
  2. Put in a redirect from your original feed (blubrry) to the new feed (Libsyn)

No need to take the show down. And you actually want to keep it up.

Go to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com and select your show. At the bottom of the page are some links: 'Remove RSS feed' should presumably delete the podcast (the layout is new and different from what was there previously). If this doesn't work, contact Support and ask them to remove it: https://itunespartner.apple.com/contact/?content_type=podcasts

The best way to redirect the show is to add the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag to the original feed (if blubrry will do this). This will redirect the iTiunes Store to the new feed seamlessly and also your subscribers will be transferred when they check the feed (so you need to leave it up for two weeks to allow this to happen). there will be no conflict as the Store will be using the new feed and ignoring the old one. After two weeks you can just delete the old feed.

The methods for redirecting are described in detail here:
