should i erase apple ssd while resetting my MacBook Pro?

Hi,

Should I erase Apple SSD SM0128 when I am resetting my MacBook Pro? If so, what should I put under name? Default name is “untitled”. I already erased “container 2” and Macintosh HD which are child drives.

Thanks

Thanks,

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

I would if you are performing a clean install so that the partition table and file systems are all fresh & clean. You can name it anything you want. The default from the factory is "Macintosh HD" although "Macintosh SSD" is a bit more representative of the physical drive in your laptop.

Make sure to select GUID partition and APFS (top option) since you are running macOS 10.13+.
