Calculator + app

App worked okay until latest update 14.5.1

Now will not work at all. Says developer needs to update software for it to work.

Is there any way of retrieving what was in the vault ?

same app does not now seem to be in App Store anymore either.

problem on both I phone and I pad.

After months of stressing out about my very important lost financial files trapped within this app, I finally got the app to work again tonight and recovered everything! It was quick, easy, and somewhat of an accidental miracle.  Here’s what I did:

  1. On my MacBook, I downloaded the free version of iExplorer for Mac https://macroplant.com/iexplorer (don’t press “buy”, just press the blue download button, you don’t need to give out any information)
  2. Opened iTunes on my MacBook
  3. Connected my iPhone to my MacBook with my USB-C cable
  4. Found the little picture of my iPhone on iTunes and pressed it
  5. I attempted to make a backup of my iPhone by checking “this computer” in the backup section, and “back up now” under “manually back up and restore”. (I did not check “Encrypt iPhone backup”)

This is the odd part, the backup didn’t work, it said I didn’t have enough space on my computer….but then I pressed the Calculator+ app on my phone and it came back to life.  I was able to retrieve all of my files and photos, and the app still works even after disconnecting the phone from my MacBook.

I had this reply form the developers today

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out and for letting us know about this issue.

We have contacted Apple to request their assistance in resolving this. Unfortunately, we are unable to tell how long it will take, so we apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

While we are working on a permanent solution, there is a temporary one that have been reported to work by some users. You may try it by following the steps on this page: https://secret-calculator.com/offload.html

Hope this solves your issue for now. Regardless of the outcome, please make sure to not delete the app, as that will also permanently delete your documents.

Best,

One Wave

By pushing the app I got first also the same message that de developer should update the app.

then I also went to the App Store and noticed that the app is no longer in the App Store.

than I looked in my previous purchase list and there the app was still there and there the app asked for a update. That’s wat I did. After that I could open the app again.

Hello Dmat57! Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

We understand that the Calculator + app isn't working for you, and you're seeing a message that the developer needs to update the app's software. We'd like to look into this with you to see how we can help.

Connecting with the App developer to see if they plan to update the software for the app, or if there's a way to retrieve information stored through the app is going to be your best option. The following resource can help with that: How to contact an app developer

Make it a great day!

This link absolutely works. Follow the directions exactly. I was using Calc+ when my iPhone updated and I could no longer access my photos. My photos were found under the app: com.agilitech.spycalfree. Double clicked on the app and you see documents and library. Double click documents and then double click PVAssets. There are your documents and photos. Good luck. I recovered hundreds of photos and videos I thought I’d lost. I hope this helps some of you.

I tried the method suggested earlier in this thread described at https://turbofuture.com/cell-phones/How-to-Rescue-Your-Photos-from-the-My-Secret-Folder-iPhone-App.

Don't be discouraged by the fact that the title doesn't mention Calc+, the method works and there are instructions specifically for Calc+ on the page linked above

Just wanted to report that it worked for me!

Wishing all here the best of luck recovering their treasures....

I contacted Apple support today and do a screen share with them. They basically did you say that you would have to update to a time in the past through iCloud so that you can retrieve the photos. Other than that I’m going to try and open my old iPhone that has not been updated and retrieve them that way. I also found the developer and emailed them info@onewave.se

Hello Dmat57!

If the app is no longer available on the App Store, you might need to check your email for an invoice from Apple for the app purchase details. It should have the app name and developer listed which may help you get in contact with them.

You can also use the following to help find the app in your purchase history: See your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and more

Be well!

I exported the files from my phone to my computer if that’s what you are asking. I followed the steps and downloaded the programs. I backed up my iPhone to my computer amd then accessed the back up and found the file I listed which was the Calc+ app. I now have the information so I’m not using another app for my photos. I just place

them in the hidden photo folder on my phone if they are personal. Hopefully I answered your question.
