How do I turn off recovery mode?

I don’t think that I am the first person to ask this question but, how do I turn off recovery mode? I have an iPad Gen 5 and I forgot the password to it. I saw something about recovery mode, so I decided to try that. While I was trying to reset it, I remembered the passcode and tried to take it out of recovery mode, but I get stuck in a loop where if I keep holding the home button and power button, the Apple logo goes on and off, and if I take my finger off of the power button, it goes back to the recovery mode screen. I have tried many websites that claim to get recovery mode off, but they either don’t work, or cost money. If anyone could help me, I would be so thankful.

You are apparently attempting to exit recovery mode without restoring your iPad?

Exit Recovery Without Restore

1) Press the "Sleep/Wake" and "Home" buttons together for a few seconds until the iPad turns off.

2) Press "Sleep/Wake" to turn the iPad back on. The iPad should exit recovery mode and start normally. If this doesn't work, proceed to restore the iPad with iTunes.

Exit Recovery With Restore

You will require a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of macOS).

1) Power on the iPad and connect one end of a USB cable to the device.

2) Connect the other end of the cable to your computer. If the computer doesn't recognize the iPad, disconnect it. Hold down the "Home" button on the iPad while reconnecting it to the computer.

3) Click "OK" at the prompt to restore your iPad with iTunes.
