Grey spinning circle; WiFi keeps cutting /blacking out on new iPad
I’ll be working happily, then I’ll open a page or do an action then the grey spinning circle comes up next to the WiFi symbol at top-right (the WiFi symbol is still there and it’s still connected when checking the WiFi status in Settings) - and nothing works for either 2-3mins or at all - apps or Safari/Chrome etc....
Then I have to tap the WiFi symbol in the drop-down menu to manually disconnect/reconnect - then everything works again (either for a few secs or a few hrs, it’s totally random).
It’s mainly on apps like Twitter / Instagram, but also happens on everything - YouTube, Chrome, shopping apps etc.
That said, there *may* be a correlation to when the app needs to search location- based info (happens when I search on Twitter for eg - I tap something or search then BAM, spinning circle and it freezes). See attached screenshot to see what I’ve already turned off in location settings.
It’s driving me crazy (and seems to happen regardless of what WiFi network I’m on, not just at home, also happens on my iPhone (but not my wife’s iPad/iPhone, both of which were my old devices) and does NOT happen when I’m on 4G /cellular — so I know it’s my devices only and something to do with WiFi.
If anyone has any solutions or experiences the same thing, then would love to hear from you!
