Messages not syncing "read" status across devices

Messages not syncing "read" status across devices. This issue has been frustrating me for a while now. I am *getting* all my messages between my iPhone, iPad, Mac Pro, etc... but if I READ a message on one device, it still shows as UNREAD on the other devices and I have to go to each device and "view" the message to clear the blue-dot that indicates an unread message. I've tried all the typical stuff; reboot devices, turn certain settings off, then back-on again, etc. It still persists. Any solution...?

(P.S. There is a solution posted on a similar topic, but it does not solve the issue I'm experiencing. I do have "Enable Messages in iCloud" checked in Macbook Pro's Messages Preferences. Here's a link to prior topic: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252280120 )
