Hi,

As these songs come from another source than iTunes Store or Apple Music, some of them could be unavailable when you add them on iTunes.

Even if you bought them, iTunes checks automatically songs you add and grey out songs that aren’t available in your country.

That just means iTunes didn’t get the rights to let you listen some songs in your country, or that the songs authors haven’t made available these songs in your country.

Thanks Remi

It seems that Apple is acting as if we are steaming content from a music service ( them?) that has to have the rights and that there are subscriptions to pay and royalties to go to artists.

In law the content (CD) has been purchased, paid for) and capitalised. The artist has received their royalties. We have the right to listen anywhere in the world regardless of where it was purchased on where we are now ( in fact purchased in UK, where I am).

In practical terms suggests we might not be able to copy music to listen on holiday or when travelling! Not really fit for purpose.

Thinking therefore that I will get a music player at at next upgrade switch back to android.

Thanks for your help

Have a great day

G
