Enabling iCloud Photos
When I try to enable iCloud photos in order to get more storage on my device, I get a warning that x number of photos will be removed if I enable it because they were 'synced from finder'. Is there a way around this?

Those are photos that were synced to the phone from a computer by using iTunes (or more recently, Finder). The photos should still be on that computer. Assuming they are, you can allow iCloud Photos to delete them from the phone and after iCloud Photos is done syncing (can take a long time) you can then upload them to iCloud from the computer and they will then sync to the phone. Also see other options (e.g., AirDrop) in the section that follows "Any photos or videos you copy to your device through iTunes are not copied in iCloud Photos. To add your original, full resolution versions, follow these steps:" in Get help with iCloud Photos - Apple Support
