Magic Keyboard Goes Haywire After Extended Pause in Use

I have a Mac Mini M1 with which I interface using an Apple Magic Keyboard. If I let the screen saver activate and the screen to lock, and several hours pass, once I try to wake it, the keyboard becomes erratic, with one keystrokes repeating itself several times. Of course, this makes inputting your just about impossible! Only by typing very...very...slowly, allowing 5-10 seconds between keystrokes, will the keyboard cooperate and follow instructions. Powering the keyboard off and on again does not help, and the only method I have found to cure this is to--under Bluetooth Preferences--disconnect and reconnect the keyboard. Even this does not always work if the problem persists while you are attempting to enter the pairing code.

The keyboard has fresh batteries, and the Apple Magic Mouse 2 which I use along this keyboard functions perfectly all the time even after an extended pause and the screen locks. Once the problem is cleared, after several aggravating attempts, the keyboard works perfectly, that is only until the next screen lock and long sleep. Using a wired keyboard is not feasible with my physical set up, so I am lost for a practical solution to this Magic Keyboard problem. Any similar problems to this out there, and any possible answers?

Why Risk a Damaged Device?:

I have not come across this issue, firsthand. But, just get a new keyboard, to avoid a damaged device: your Mac.
