Finder keeps asking for password to change or delete a file.

I have a new Mac running Big Sur. I am getting annoyed because every time I want to rename or delete a file in finder it wants my password. How do I stop this?

Finder asks for password for every action Each time I try to move or rename a folder Finder wants password permission. This is not a shared computer and there is only 1 account and I am the admin of that - don't understand why I now have to give myself permission to make any changes to my own files and folders. Is there any way to disable this, without having to alter the permissions on every folder on the drive?? Thanks
