Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…
Whew, they've changed pastebin & made it harder, but after pasting in, click Create new paste button, then Embed button, then copy the URL...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

I have spent hours trying to "reset the SMC" got EtreCheck to review my hardware, ran MalWare to find aliens, and could not fix it. Under "Privacy and Security" neither Facetime nor PhotoBooth were options to select. Wrote to you, and while awaiting for your response, suddenly found the camera recognized in the "About this Mac" hardware and the Photobooth and Facetime apps both worked. Thought it was somehow solved. It was then that I asked how you fixed it.
THEN, about two hours later, my camera was again not recognized, and photobooth and Facetime did not recognize it and neither did Privacy and Security. Tried to again reset the SMC" and no success, repeatedly, no success.
WHAT IS HAPPENING????? help please. And see alaj55 below who is also experiencing the same....

Have no solution for us. Looked all over and for every solution and am going in circles now. Awaiting response from Apple now. See my letter below, and don't bother going through any of my efforts to solve because none of them worked.

Safe Mode not change anything.
Do you really want the entire Etrecheck report?

mdsync might be to do with Time Machine, MTL Compiler Service is graphic card related.
The problem started before yesterday. I used my computer in every usual way yesterday. Unsure what I was using at the three specified time. I am not a computer specialist, so please speak easy english to me and tell me what my next step is. If you don;t have a solution, please say so.

In System Report>Hardware>Camera, does it show up there?
Apple diagnostics show no hardware issue.
Before you hit the Post button, use the letter icon to paste in the whole report...

(was NOT opening in photobooth and NOT seen in "About this mac Hardware line, before, but now is!!!!)
