Deleted Daemon Files and Blocked Safari

So today while I was at high school, my safari wouldn't open any websites. It would be understandable (because of firewalls) if it wasn't because of the fact that I was the only one with that issue. Idk if it could be related to the type of microchip (M1) it has?

So, I basically asked for help and searched on the internet through a friend's Mac, and it said to download CleanMyMac app, so I did. Basically what happened, is that after doing a scan, it found 6 "dangerous" files, of which I deleted 3, and the other 3 were not available to delete, they were Launch Daemons. Silly me, I kept trying and found the way to delete them. However, I've been reading about them because the problem persisted, and some people say they are important. Might as well add, that yesterday I didn't have this issue.

Also, after shutting off the Mac and restarting it, I redid a scan on CleanMyMac, strangely enough, now it shows 6 files again and I can't delete any, they are grouped as AdLoad and named: DeployPlatform.system / com.DeployPlatformSystem.plist / org.3881610892800872461.B3FDA015-9B0F-4673-B939-879480339025 / net.7958077948251793988.422FAF14-2F5A-4D6F-A71A-8E33195A3C7D / _5092307477975057433_ and _2315618383077908570.

The org, net and deploy platform files are under the launch daemons folder, while the other 2 are in separate ones.

Also, this only happens at the schools place, its all Gucci in my house or anywhere for the matter.

PLEASE HELP AT THIS POINT IM RECONSIDERING REMOVING EVERYTHING BUT WITH MY LUCK I´LL CRASH THE MAC

You have adware, and you still have at least parts of cleanmymac. It is not as easy as dragging to the trash.

As I'd written before, you have to follow their instructions to remove it....

I am not sure if you can completely delete cleanmymac manually, but we can at least try to delete the stuff above.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this by hand, you can also download the free version of MalwareBytes, and use it to remove adware.

EDIT: I tried to post manual instructions for removing the mentioned adware, but the forum software is blocking it

Hello MariaS14,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We see that you are having trouble with Safari loading at your school and you also have a cleaner app installed that is showing files that need to be removed, is that right?

We’d be happy to help!

First, we recommend removing the CleanMyMac app as it can cause unwanted changes and is not needed with the built in security software of MacOS. Simply restart your Mac if the MacOS is up to date.

Next, you can follow the steps in If Safari doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected to troubleshoot Safari not loading correctly.

Have a great day.

And is there any way to find those stuffs and delete them?

Apparently you were already there. You posted screenshots from the EtreCheck Security page. Click on those "Remove" buttons to remove the adware.

Specifically, you want to remove the following files:

Unfortunately, some of those file names seem to have tripped the Apple Support Communities anti-spam filter. I had to post the files as screenshot instead.

Any decent application that, for good reason, needs an installer (because it needs to install additional files elsewhere) will also come with an uninstaller, or at least provide instructions for uninstalling.

If an application can be installed just by dragging to the Applications folder, or if was downloaded from the App Store, then dragging it to the trash and emptying it is all you need to do.

At this point maybe someone would point out that there will still be other files like preferences. These are tiny and don’t do anything by themselves, so don’t bother.

MariaS14,

Thanks for the reply.

If you are still able to restart the Mac normally, it should be fine, but it is good to be careful with those items as they can affect running the Mac.

The cleaner app can make unnecessary changes like blocking features that are normal and slowing down the Mac. Just be aware of it if you have any issues.

Keep that article in mind if you have an issue with Safari again.

Cheers!
