iphone 12 camera / camera software

Since the update before the one just released, my camera has stopped taking pictures. I can take video only. When I press the shutter button, it makes the sound, but the picture is never taken. (Or it isn't showing up on the Photos). I've reset my phone, I've even erased all, reset the phone to factory, and set up as a new phone, and it still isn't working. Very very occasionally, it will take a picture, but stops again.

Also, when using the zoom, it freezes the entire screen. And on a lot of times, the screen is washed out very badly (Like it's in 100% sun and everything is beached out).

Is it my phone, or system software? I use my camera ALL THE TIME.
