How to stop inverted colors splash screen

I was very nervous about this decision, but I decided to update to MacOS Big Sir. So far I'm struggling with a new splash screen that splashes whenever I use the "invert screen colors" keyboard shortcut. The idea so far is that if I'm ever having accessibility difficulties seeing something on the screen, I can activate the shortcut to see what I couldn't before. Ever since updating, when I activate the shortcut, I still can't see what I was trying to look at because there is a splash screen obscuring my view. Can Big Sir disable the splash screen the way the last version did?
