New Siri remote, how do I setup IR to Power TV or Receiver On and Off and switching input to Apple TV?

In the new Apple TV 4K Tech Specs Web page it says “Control your TV or receiver via IR or CEC”. With a footnote (3): "Powering on and off, switching input to Apple TV, controlling volume, and mute."

What are the exact steps in settings to have Apple TV/new Siri remote learn the IR codes for a TV and/or receiver to Control the power On and Off for the TV and/or receiver via IR. This question is for TVs and receivers without HDMI-CEC. ( I know it works automatically for TVs or receivers with HDMI-CEC).

If you or a friend needs the Power button on the new Siri remote to be able to send IR commands.

Please report it to Apple (link below), hopefully they will fix it if they get enough requests. I requested the Power button to be able to control at least 2 devices (TV and Soundbar/AVR) via IR. And Learning IR for Discrete Power On/Off and Toggle Power On/Off and Discrete switch to desired HDMI input. Shouldn't be that hard for Apple they are already doing the IR Learning for Volume + - and Mute.

Power button and IR status

I tried it but the Power button on the new Siri remote does not work for TVs (or Soundbars/AVRs) without CEC that need the Power button to send IR.

Learning IR for the Power button is still missing as of tvOS14.6.

On the Apple TV 4K Tech Specs it states “Control your TV or receiver via IR or CEC”. With footnote (3): "Powering on and off, switching input to Apple TV, controlling volume, and mute.

Apple promised IR support for Power On/Off but it is still missing, does anyone know when IR support for Power On/Off is coming?
