Thanks, but this only helps with episodes I've listened to to the very last second. If there is even one second left, they won't delete/disappear. Something changed in functionality and it sucks. Apple needs to fix it/change it back.
The Apple podcast has fittings for the app Stations and Shows. As noted in the left middle and center frames of the pic below, be sure your settings match the five marked in purple.
