How do I exit a compound clip
Im editing in final cut and I opened one of my compound clips and I can't use the arrows to get out, what do I do?

You can also click the left arrow under the viewer to the left of the clip's name:

The left and right arrows aren’t breaking apart the compound. I think that’s what you’re saying. The left and right arrows are basically forward and back arrows like in a browser. If you open the compound from project, the back arrow, left, will take you back to the project: the forward arrow, right, will take you to were you had been, the open compound.
I'm a bit confused by this thread but have found the information useful.
I have occasionally wanted to separate a compound clip into its individual components and did not realise that a double-click would do it.
I wasn't aware of those arrows until a minute ago but I find that I have to click the right arrow to separate the clips and the left one combines them back into a compound clip.
Where do you want to go? Of you want to open a project, double click it in the browser.
Ditto to what Tom said.
Also if you have a bunch of Projects, Clips, Compounds on the go, you can click and hold an arrow to reveal a List, then navigate quickly to any item chosen.
