No horizontal scrolling with shift+mouse scroll

Since replacing my 2012 MacBook Pro, with the 2020 MacBook Air M1, I have been unable to scroll horizontally with shift+mouse scroll.

I am not using any 3rd party apps (such as BTT or Mos).

I have tried with two different mouses (a wireless Logitech, and a wired Razer)

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities  Jabberwooky,

Thank you for contacting us regarding MacBook Air M1. You have come to the right place and we are happy to assist in getting this resolved for you.  The best way to make your mouse work the way you want it to is under system preferences.  > System Preferences > Mouse or Trackpad.

Change Mouse preferences on Mac

Change mouse tracking, double-click, and scrolling speed on Mac

If you can't connect your Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad to your Mac

Hope this helps.
