my battery life on iOS 14.6 is terrible… is it just me or anyone is experiencing this thing too??
So after putting up with this issue of the App Store using around 50% of my battery each day for nearly two weeks (and with activity levels at 100% every hour, with almost all of it in the background) I contacted apple support online chat. They suggested a few things that I had already tried and so we went to the full restore whilst the phone is plugged into a computer. So I reset my phone 11 via my Mac (following their instructions) and then I restored via iCloud backup .
I have now had ten hours of normal battery behaviour; usually by this point in the day my iPhone would be nearly dead. It is still on 56% 👍🏻👏🏻
So if anyone on here is struggling with battery life since iOS 14.6 was released and has tried a number of things but not yet tried the full restore plugged into a computer (which is better than an untethered restore according to the apple support chat representative) then I would urge you try it. Yes, it is a pain resetting the phone and waiting for it to restore from backup (and I now need to reconfigure my banking apps and wallet) - but I'm very happy that the problem seems to be resolved.

I always do all the betas so I’m on 14.7 since day one. Battery health going down like crazy Xd iPhone 12 Pro Max here. I almost never charge it more than 80%. If I wanted all these I would keep my Android lolz
They won't admit latest iOS sucks! Not many people facing the same issue because not many people pay that much attention to their batteries! For example my wife said there's nothing wrong with her battery until I checked her iphone 12pro, her battery is even worse than my 12pro! So probably all iPhones has this problem but people don't even notice!
I think its such a waste of time to discuss these think coz apple never take this seriously . If they take that it never be happen . They always do as they do . But they never fix before ios 14.7 release and i also doubt that ios 14.7 still not to fix battery drain issue . Apple just make new feature some new option but never focus on stability . Its strange btw no one ios is perfect there is alwys a bug.
updated to new iOS battery drain significant and continual. If I have anything running my battery drains. Apple has to fix this why will anyone ever update if you keep making the battery drain with each update? Do better. My phone has drain 20% while writing this.
I got hacked after being asked for my email on Beam electric bike hire company app. I was told to update and change password. That night I thought I was still hacked as my battery was draining so quick. It gives me a bit of Peace of Mind
Assuming there is one. I understand that it will be a while for 14.7. I was just saying what I found on a website. It’s a very trustworthy website, but that one is a prediction for sure. But I hope this doesn’t permanently damage batteries.
Hey after downgrading your iphone , did the battery health which you lost came up ? Or its the same ? Even i lost 2 percent after the update for no reason on my new iphone 12 , also too much battery drain , i dont know apple will ever address this issue and fix
My IPhone X is battery is draining like hole in a bucket of water after iOS 14.6 update. Done everything to save it but improvement. Previously can last a day full with mid to heavy usage. Now just last few hours.
@Apple please release the update soon to fix it. It’s really annoying just in case you guys understand it.
My display is not responding my phone just goes off by itself when I'm on the phone. I do not understand why? since I have the update 14.6 drauf it is a disaster. my Ipohne model is the 7 so far I never had problems what is this? I would like to buy the 12 but not at this price honestly it is too expensive costs almost as much as a winter car. My phone has never fallen off. I pay so much attention I have so few apps on it and now I just have this problem . I have a mac 2 iPads the Ipohne everything from you but as is now one must almost consider to switch.
No they do not help. Probably all ppl here already know about them. Apple should acknowledge and fix this for us. Ppl sending abnormal battery draining graphs and still apple is in denial. Guess we all hallucinating then !

I have updated my iPhone to iOS 14.6 and suffer extreme battery drains and also lost in battery health.
So I was wondering what to do with my iPad.
i just put the question to the community and I am hoping for response so far I didn’t update my iPad , waiting for advise!
Same problems here, I updated to 14.6 because it was supposed to solved the problems I was having with the app podcast. Very bad move. Like you I wonder if Apple will do something for this but loosing patience. I have an appointment at Apple store Monday will see what they say !
Then please explain why my iPad Mini (5) has suddenly started draining the battery in 5 hours when it used to last all day and evening. The on-line and Genius Bar said my battery indicated fine. How do we fix this????
They tested the battery, and found it was good. They looked at the usage statistics and agreed there was a problem. Then said I could try reducing usage, (which I had already tried) and just wait for the next update of the 14.6 system . Not very satisfactory, given the comments I have seen here, along with the speed of the battery discharge.

thanks for sharing but I tried this procedure last week and it didn’t solve the problem.
Like you I have call Apple assistance and while on the call we tried many tests and I did a full restauration with my MacBook pro.
Unfortunately for me it didn’t solve the problem… So I am hoping that my visit at the Genius Bar tomorrow will help !
