Battery drain on iOS 14.6
my battery life on iOS 14.6 is terrible… is it just me or anyone is experiencing this thing too??
I've been advised by staff member to use iTunes. Apparently you can get an old iOS version.

So after putting up with this issue of the App Store using around 50% of my battery each day for nearly two weeks (and with activity levels at 100% every hour, with almost all of it in the background) I contacted apple support online chat. They suggested a few things that I had already tried and so we went to the full restore whilst the phone is plugged into a computer. So I reset my phone 11 via my Mac (following their instructions) and then I restored via iCloud backup .
I have now had ten hours of normal battery behaviour; usually by this point in the day my iPhone would be nearly dead. It is still on 56% 👍🏻👏🏻
So if anyone on here is struggling with battery life since iOS 14.6 was released and has tried a number of things but not yet tried the full restore plugged into a computer (which is better than an untethered restore according to the apple support chat representative) then I would urge you try it. Yes, it is a pain resetting the phone and waiting for it to restore from backup (and I now need to reconfigure my banking apps and wallet) - but I'm very happy that the problem seems to be resolved.

Sitting off charger in sleep mode for 8 hours, and battery drained from 100 to 88% on IPad Pro!! Awful!!

I wanted to upgrade and give them more $ but not until this is resolved
So, I just found an article that this is supposed to be fixed in iOS 14.7! This makes me happy.
i tried fourteen point seven and ver. fifteen op system and it is almost the same. just plain phone calls sucks the battery so much. it was totally fine with 14.4.1. it started with 14.5
I started using Pocket Casts and Podcasts fairly equally the last day or so.
It's pretty frightening how much battery life Podcasts takes up.
Click settings —> click your photo at the top —> find —> find my phone —> find my network
What does it say under ‘Battery’ in ‘Settings’?
What trouble shooting steps have you tried?
If it helps, the podcasts app has gotten better with yesterday’s update. There’s still some drain caused by the podcasts app, but not nearly as bad and my phone no longer melts when playing episodes.

The through line is the podcast app. When using it battery drains. And phone gets really hot.
Come on apple. FIX IT.
I have an 11 with 100% battery capacity and am amazed at how quickly it drains after this last update. I could go 2 or 3 days before having to charge previously and now with the same useage I don’t even get 24 hours between charges.
I also facing same issue on my 11 pro battery drain and heating issue apple have to fix it in next update. Within 3 months ios 14 comes to end. There is no fix to battery drain and heating issue since ios 14 release . Ios 13 is much better
Additional follow up: Woke up this morning and Podcast battery use is down to 26%. It had been as high as in the 60s. Now it isn't even the top app in battery use. Evernote is top at 28%. Note sure about actual battery drain this morning, yet. I'll see how it goes over the next day and weekend.
It’s terrible - instant badness - battery drain - overheating- messed up podcasts - I had to delete podcast app and download again. I’m just replying because I hope if enough of us say something they might do something quickly. Jeez- if I did something like this at my job I would be fired in a minute.
Yes me too. I just got the iPhone 12 a few weeks ago. Just upgraded to iOS 14.6 this morning and battery power is being sucked right out of my phone within an hour. Dear APPLE!!!! Fix this now or take your phone back.
