My Mac was running ok 10.5.7 but suddenly it downgraded to mountain lion what should I do

I don’t know what happened but my Mac was previously running on recent software update but suddenly it stopped working then I tried recovering using internet recovery but then mountain lion started working all my work disappeared what should I do

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

User your Time Machine Backup that was used when running Catalina. Restart in Recovery Mode Command + r immediately at startup - attach the Time Machine Backup drive. Recovery Mode will present options and choose Restore from Backup and follow the prompts.
