Ipad air 4 power/touch id button broke-can’t power on

Dropped ipad air 4 and power/touch id button is cracked and pushed in but have been using with no issues til now. Somehow I shut down the ipad and now when i plug in to charge it just shows support.apple.com/ipad/restore and the image of the usb c plugging into a pc, which I did. I did the update but still won’t turn on to home screen. Is there any way to get this thing working without having to pay $250 to fix the power button?

Not really.

With a broken/damaged power button, you cannot even perform normal reset procedures.

Apple does NOT repair iPads. Apple ONLY does in/out of warranty device replacements.

User damage on expensive Apple devices is why you pay the extra money for two-year extended AppleCare+

With two-year AppleCare+, a replacement device for a user damaged iPad would only have cost you $50 U.S.D.

Now you need to pay a WHOLE LOT MORE CASH for the same replacement iPad.

Time to pay.

You need to get that iPad replaced.

Search online to locate and call contact your nearest, “local” Apple Store location to try/attempt to make an appointment to get your Apple iPad replaced with another iPad Air.

OR, failing that,

Contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.

Use the Hardware Repair support category.

OR

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.
