Ios 14.6 battery

Ios 14.6 is causing excessive battery drainage.

ios 14.5.1 was too laggy and has more performance issue in games and operating system, but those issues solved and new issue born with the battery drainage.

Typically, when upgrading to a new iOS release, there is a number of activities that need to complete in the background even after the install finishes. It is best to wait a day or two, using the phone as you normally would, before you can get a more accurate "picture" of any excessive battery draining issues. It will also depend on how you have your phone configured ... which you didn't provide us with any information. There are a number of features that use up battery, the most dominant would be screen brightness.

Ihave the same issue after installing 14.6 when it came a while ago: iPhone 11Pro (March, 2020 phone); after a cold restart, NO apps running, battery drains about 10% per hour just sitting there. The battery prefs show little activity, noting in "background", etc. This behavior is new to 14.6.

Clearly a bug or my battery is suddenly failing coincidentally after an IOS Update. Battery will fully recharge to "100%" according to the phone either on a wireless charger or plugged into the Apple power adapter.

Hi,

Same issue on the iPad Pro after update 14.6. I tried that suggestion of deleting the Podcast app, and it has helped a little, but the battery percentage is still dropping way too fast. The update may have damaged the battery. My warranty will run out in10 days, but I've heard that I'd be wasting my time bring it back to the store, you get told that the battery is a consumable, and then they show you the price list for a replacement battery. Any suggestions?

Hi, I’ve got the same issue and seems like it just happened overnight. Phone was working fine the last days. Using a 12pro and only just bought it last Oct! My phone was 100% when I went to bed last night and did not leave the plug on but this morning it had gone down 50%! Also, my battery health was at 97% but went down to 96% overnight. This is very worrying and I’m thinking of going down to Apple today but not sure if there is another way to fix this.

Your battery health going to 96% is not a problem. Batteries are consumable things and will always lose health as you use them. As far as your device going from 100-50% overnight, go to Settings>Battery and see what app or apps used that amount of battery overnight. It is listed right there and you can start your troubleshooting from there.
