All of a sudden my iPhone 7plus will only charge when plugged into an outlet but wont charge in car or in any USP ports. Am only using Apple supported cables. I know the phone is a dinosaur, but it works great.... at least till this started, any suggestions?

Hmm, it is difficult to say. Try these steps:
1) Check the charging port for lint or other debris
2) See this: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t charge
