Not blocking blocked senders

When I block an email sender with an instruction to delete their emails, some of their subsequent emails show up in the junk folder with a red note stating that the message is from a blocked sender. This happens even though I have selected "Move it to the trash" and not "Mark as blocked mail, but leave it in my Inbox." I have seen multiple posts from people who seem to have the same problem, but the community replies usually just explain how to block senders or explain that spammers usually change their email address to bypass any junk or blocking filters. These replies do not apply to my situation. I have correctly blocked senders and directed the system to move such messages to the trash, but some messages from blocked senders -- with the identical email addresses as the ones blocked -- are still showing up in my inbox, even though my system tacks on a note acknowledging that I have blocked the senders. Is this a Big Sur problem, or something else?

Hello lrstacks,

Thanks for reaching out to us for support. It’s never fun when you’re still receiving emails from blocked senders, and we are going to do everything we can to help you. When you have a free moment, can you please tell us when you first encountered this issue and the version of macOS Big Sur that you currently have installed on your Mac?

Find out which macOS your Mac is using

Next, you can adjust the settings for what happens to the incoming email after you've blocked it. Go to Settings > Mail > Threading > Blocked Sender Options. From there you are presented with three options:

1) None: This turns off all email blocking.

2) Mark as Blocked, Leave in Inbox: This will allow the blocked mail to come to your inbox, but you will not receive a notification for it.

3) Move to Trash: Sends the blocked email to the Trash folder. You can empty the trash manually, or choose to have the trash empty automatically in your account settings.

Lastly, please check out the link below and let us know if this helps you, or if you have any questions.

I just started using the blocked contacts a few weeks ago. It never moved my junk mail from blocked contacts to the trash even though I selected that option. I have selected enable blocked mail filtering and move it to trash. The contacts in my junk mail indicate that the message is from a blocked sender. I am using macOS Big Sur Version 11.4. Thanks
