Can the 5th gen iPad Pro 12.9" be used vertically on the Magic Keyboard?

It is easy to see how to use it horiz/landscape, but can it also be used portrait/vert? If so, how?

No.

The connection pins will not line up in portrait orientation.

The iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard is meant to be used like a laptop/MacBook and laptop screens are used in a horizontal/landscape orientation.
