How to access Colorsync folder to import new icc Paper profile

Your local (/Users/username/Library) has a ColorSync folder with a Profiles sub-directory.

Click on your Desktop, and press shift+command+G to open the Go To Folder panel. Copy and paste the following in that dialog, and press GO. It will open a new Finder window inside that Profiles location:

~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles

Quit any running application that would recognize ICC profiles. Now drag and drop your ICC paper profiles into this location. Relaunch the application(s) that need to see these profiles.

My ~/Library/ColorSync/ also only has a display

calibration profiles and only 2. One I did originally

on my MacBook Air Back in November and one

I did with my external display the next day.

However, I just did one recently and it saved to

/Library/ColorSync/Profiles and not ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles.

I think the first two I did not tick the box for make

it available to all users and therefore created the folder.

That is possible. All of my Big Sur installations used a restore from a Mojave Time Machine backup, and the local Library ColorSync folder may have been a product of those previous installations. However, the ICC issue should be resolved by creating the ColorSync and Profiles folder within it, and then placing the respective profiles in there.

Near as I can tell, on this install of Big Sur, the act of opening System Preferences > Display > Color created the folder. Something like that.

I noticed that in my ColorSync/Profiles folder it only contained calibrated display profiles, as I have not placed any other ICC profiles in there, so I would believe how it gets created by the operating system, and I believe this was a behavior well before Big Sur.

FWIW, my user folder didn't include the ColorSync folder until it was created this morning.

I show Library->ColorSync->Profiles on my machine

So it has to be there.
