Superdrive automatically ejects blank DVD disc

I have a Superdrive that has started to automatically reject blank DVDs. I've tried the basic troubleshooting steps I've found online without success. Any thoughts/suggestions welcome. I'm running iOS 10.15.7 on my iMac.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the rapid reply. I've kept fiddling with it (an external Superdrive, BTW) and it appears that the problem may have been with the discs I was using. I switched to some other DVDs and it seems to be working OK now.

Is that an Internal or USB SuperDrive?

What are you burning on blank DVDs?

Not sure what you gleaned from the on-line troubleshooting steps, but I would try

  1. a different brand of blank DVD's
  2. a dry DVD/CD cleaning disc
  3. an aftermarket disc drive

If you are using DVDs for backups or whatever, then I recommend getting a better quality USB external disc drive,

Or optionally, move away from DVD's and use FlashDrives for sharing and an External Hard Drive for backups.
