Why is my powerbook intel based Mac 2020 overheating? It was so hot it was burning my fingers. I got macs fan control off the internet and it went from 185 to 117F. Is that app safe?

I don't think there has been a PowerBook since 2005.
You do not need to use a third party fan conctrol app. Let the operating system manage the temperature of your computer.
You can try a SMC reset.

Why do powerbooks get so hot? I have intel 2020. I got macs fan control off internet and temp went down from 185 to 117. I hope it's safe to use this app
