My desktop PC suddenly decided that it wouldn't connect to my iPhone 7+ hotspot anymore, in fact when I insert the cable into a USD port it charges the phone but it isn't recognised as a device. I have tried inputting %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers, but this comes up as not found. Any one got any ideas?

Security Software on a PC:
Any Security Software on your PC? If so, then it may not be letting it get attached as a trusted device. So, allow the connection to go through.
Try Verifying if it is Seen:
View the Device Manager, and see if it is a Hidden Device.

Of the 4 USB wires, Power wires are ok but to check the other two (data) wires can you connect any other USB devices to the Desktop? Like external disk?

I was more concerned about general USB connectivity to the Desktop, as deggie has just also highlighted.
Try the Microsoft support site and you may need to reset the master USB driver.
Thanks for this, but I have tried all of it. My iPhone isn't even showing in the portable devices when attached, when all USBs are disconnected and only iPhone connected I don't even get portable devices showing.

Hi, Thank you. It does show as a hidden device, however it states that it isn't connected, even when it is via USB cable that is verified as working.
