Am I able to map different MIDI devices to different instruments in GarageBand?

I have two MIDI keyboards and want to know if I can assign them to different instruments in GarageBand, so I can play piano with one and drums with another at the same time, for example.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

How to limit number of midi devices GarageBand should use I want to be able to have 2 midi devices plugged in, and have GarageBand only listen to one of them. The other is plugged in for other purposes but still plays instruments in GarageBand which I need it to not do. (MacBook Air, MacOS Monterey 12.4)

No. Garageband has no concept of MIDI channels.

You need Garageband's smarter brother, Logic.

try setting up the audio/midi app in the prefrences thats the heart of the sunrise
