I want to remove all photos from my MacBook Air but keep them on my iMac, iPhone, iPad, and in the Cloud. I have the MacBook Air Photos unchecked for the Cloud, but they are still there. 19.56 GB of them. How can I safely get them off the one device without losing them forever? The MacBook Air is only used for writing. I access photos in the iMac and iPhone, etc.

Once you have disabled iCloud Photos on your MacBook Air, you can delete the Photos Library. Open the Pictures folder in the Finder ( or wherever you are storing the Photos library), then move it to the Trash. This will delete all photos from the device. You may want to make a copy of the library on an external volume, just in case you do not have a backup of the photos in the library.
