I am on a M1 MacBook Air and I have apple music as well as wired audiotechnica headphones. But when I go to preferences on my Apple Music and I click on playback, I do not see the audio quality option. My MacBook is also on the most recent update, 11.4. I want to listen to lossless audio is there any reason this may be happening?

If so, have you restarted your Mac since the issue began? You may consider booting in safe mode to see if the issue persists?

I alredy answered this in couple similar theads. I'm having the same issue on Catalina. I tried rebooting, shutting down and turning back on, normally and in safe mode. It doesn't work. The option isn't there.
EDIT: I JUST REALISED ONLY MACS RUNNING BIG SUR SUPPORT THIS OPTION. SO I TAKE EVERYTHIN BACK, NOT A TECHNICAL PROBLEM, JUST A NONSENSICAL LIMITATION IMPOSED BY APPLE.

update your Mac first and then open Music app on your Mac,
Cmd+, in Playback you must see Quality audio for streaming and download, and Spatial audio.
I have the latest macOS 10.15.7 and that option is definitely NOT there. (10 June 2021 12:08 Sydney time)
Any more help from Apple specialists??
But please no more re-boot and safe mode suggestions!!

I just realised err of my ways - my iMac won't upgrade to BigSur.
Looks like time to get new mac (the old one is working perfectly though !!!)
