Portrait Mode in 2021 iPad Pro

Can't take a photo in portrait mode of someone else, only myself??? Where's the reverse icon? It doesn't make sense to only take portraits of myself...won't happen. Who decided that it should be allowed or is it simply a software problem. (asking a thousand dollars later)

The front facing camera is the only camera that the iPad Pro can use to take portrait photos/images.

Sorry.

I am also very disappointed that I cannot take portraits of people with my new, very expensive, iPad Pro! Is this for real? Why is there no reverse screen button? I took some wonderful portraits of my daughter in portrait mode on an iPhone. And now a new improved iPad camera, with background settings, and they can only be used on me?? No use at all. Please change this ASAP!

TL14 I'm so glad you said that! It's a BIG downfall for Apple. Don't know anyone who'd like that. I for one Never Use Face Time, nor take self portraits. To top it off, I'm on such a limited income that buying this was one of my biggest mistakes, it just upset me so much. There are a ton of new iPads, why would what once was a reputable name risk this foolish mistake??? I do hope they find it a mistake and do find a software fix for it asap.

Thank you MichelPM for your reply. Though the answer was a bit of a shock, wonder who thought it would be only useful for taking photos of oneself? There is certainly no advantage in that and a waste of camera. They have a reverse mode in the iPhone portrait mode so I'm completely at a loss over this decision. I will send an acknowledgement feedback to the link you included, appreciated it.

I am completely serious.

If you feel that this expensive iPad Pro you purchased, and was really too expensive for you, doesn’t meet your needs, then sell it and find some other tablet device that has the tools you need, instead.

Other tablet makers maybe cheaper and offer everything you need.

Why suffer with a device that you clearly are NOT very happy with.

I myself, my new 2021, 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro WiFi/cellular data , 512 GBs storage model is STILL on the back order list and can’t wait to finally get mine.

This 2021 iPad Pro will be a HUUUGE hardware upgrade and step up for me from a 2015/2016, 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro WiFi/cellular data model.

Best of Luck to You!

Ya know?

Cameras on ANY iPad have never, EVER been the same/on equal feature parity as they are on premium model iPhones.

Never.

Better, premium model iPhones have always had the most up to date camera technologies designed into them.

iPads have always lagged behind in camera technologies compare with the latest iPhone models.

So, this really shouldn’t of any surprise to anyone who have purchased iPads, of any type, in the past.

Why is this such a serious dealbreaker for some purchasers/users?
