I can't seem to see my iPhone icon when it's plugged into my MacBook when I'm on iTunes.

We would be happy to help assist you with this. First, have you been able to try connecting your iPhone to your MacBook using another cable? Also, do you know if your Mac is able to recognize your iPhone while in other applications?
