Allow Apps Gatekeeper not showing installations that need "ALLOW"

I had a failed installation yesterday from a developer (Universal Audio) that ended with me having to do a hard reset on my MacBook Pro (Intel Big Sur). In "Security and Privacy" now, it doesn't show up any app in the "Allow apps downloaded from" requesting permission to "ALLOW". Its now that I have from "App Store" or "Identified developers" (I've also tried ANYWHERE) but after installation, I'm not getting any message to request the "ALLOW". Its as if there is a bottleneck or something on the install. I have tried to re-install, delete etc apps and drivers that were working perfectly but now nothing is happening!?

I'm trying to get a Universal Audio Thunderbolt II and RME Fireface 800 to work again which worked perfectly prior to the failed install. Now nothing!

What is however strange, is if I re-install the Universal Audio Drivers, everything pops up normally (Just before the APP Install requests a restart) If I DON'T do the restart everything is fine, (However still no request for the "ALLOW") but as soon as I restart my machine, nothing works.

I think this is a Gatekeeper issue and not a Universal Audio or RME issue.

Is anyone able to help please?

Thanks Leanne, sadly no joy.

My machine is on the latest update. I Have followed your recommendations but still no luck. Apparently many users are having this issue and have resolved a workaround by each restart adding a line to terminal. Although this resolves the problem, it is not idea as I have to do this each time of restart. I know its not a manufacturer issue as I've had to add similar lines of code for other manufactures to achieve the same result.

sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/UAD2System.kext

sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/FirefaceAudioDriver.kext

What this is doing I don't know but it does work

Hi mrsaxomaphone,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you are not getting an option to allow a third party app under the Security & Privacy settings and we would be happy to help! First, check that the software on your MacBook Pro has been updated to the latest supported version macOS 11.4. Updating the software can help us rule out potential software problems. If your MacBook Pro has not yet been updated to macOS 11.4 back up your MacBook Pro first before updating it.

If your MacBook Pro is updated and you continue to experience the same problem, then check your Security & Privacy settings to make sure they are set up correctly, see the Apple Support articles Safely open apps on your Mac and Open a Mac app from an unidentified developer. If your Security & Privacy settings are set up correctly, let’s try to isolate this issue by creating and testing in a new user account, see Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Have a good day.
