Can you share AirTag location with family?

The inability to share AirTag locations with others is a MAJOR bummer. I want to tag each of our cars to help with parking, finding one another when we’re out and about, handing off the car, etc. but the fact I can’t share the location with my wife kills most of these use cases. I would be fine if Apple wanted to limit sharing to those who are in your iCloud Family, but please give us SOME ability to share locations!!

The more people who do, the more likely Apple is to consider it.

I’ve just started using AirTags and it’s been nothing but frustration so far. My wife and I share a car, and I thought it would be great if we were both able to locate our keys when we can’t find them.

Not only does the lack of support for family sharing make this natural use case totally unworkable, I now get random pointless notifications every time my wife uses the car! Today the AirTag decided my wife had stolen our car and sent a series of notifications and emails that seem downright nonsensical.

Apple, after 15 years as a customer this is the first time I’ve ever been frustrated enough to post on a forum. Please do something.

Apple claims this to be an addition in the iOS 17…. The option looks as if it’s there, but everyone I’ve tried to share it with is “ineligible for sharing” even those that I’ve verified are also on 17 and have “find my” setup… so I’m not sure it works at all

Yes, Apple, please add this as a feature in a future update. Bought these to put on our dogs, and would love for both my husband and I to be able to see where they were if they ever got lost.

Apple, you MUST, MUST, MUST enable Family Sharing for AirTags. To charge so much and not enable this obvious need is utterly unacceptable.

After I learned that sharing wasn't an option I have enjoyed the feeling of security I get by always knowing where the "air tag storage drawer" is.

Not being able to have a family member or even other users share a tag is utterly disappointing. I guess I am back to tiles that keep breaking when used on my dogs collar.

If they just don’t fit your needs, don’t overlook Apple’s fairly generous 14-day return policy.
