Apple TV Remote and calibration settings on iPhone

Hi,

this screenshot is from the notifications menu in my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

we have an Apple TV 4K. It works absolutely fine with my phone.

however, on hers (iPhone 11 pro max) the above options aren’t there. She never gets the option/notification for the ATV4K keyboard to type things when searching for something on ATV.

She has the latest software update, and I’ve even tried doing a hard reset, but the options still aren’t there and the she still doesn’t get the option to type when needed on the ATV.

As a side note, she can use the option via the control centre to operate a remote, but she doesn’t get the automatic prompt - when she used to a month or so ago. Is there anything else I can try?

Your Apple TV is associated with your Apple ID. It sounds like your wife has her own, unique Apple ID, which is an excellent way to proceed.

You may, if you wish, associate her Apple ID to the Apple TV.

When she opens the remote using her iPhone’s Control Center, does the top say “Choose a TV”? What happens when she selects the appropriate device?

I should have said, her ID is on the ATV as well as mine.

even if I pick her account on the ATV and click to search something, only my phone has the prompt to use the phone to type something.

and even if that wasn’t the case, I don’t think that’s the issue here - as I said, she doesn’t have the above options on her notifications on her phone.

No, the correct tv is showing. I mean I accept it’s not the biggest issue, as she can just open it up on control centre, but I’m not of fan of things not working the way they should
