Using email in various languages

Hello - I see some discussion about using Mac email in different languages with a suggestion to go to the EDIT function and change. I am not sure where EDIT function is! My MAC is set for both English and Spanish under languages so what else do I need to change so that the spell check works in both English and Spanish when writing emails?

Thank you,

Kathy

Go to system preferences > keyboard > text > spelling and click on the drop down menu. At the bottom is an item called Setup. In that check the boxes for English and Spanish only. Then set spelling to "automatic".

In every app under Edit there is also a place to set spellcheck, Spelling and Grammar, where you can set the language.

If "automatic" does not give good results, then change the Edit > Spelling and Grammar to English or Spanish alone when you are typing.
