Controlling Apple Music remotely

hi guys anyone know of an app that allows me to control a headless Mac Mini which is hooked up via USB to a DAC. From my iPad and iPhone?

I have been using Roon and Tidal to feed my music and streamed Hi res to my Hi-Fi system. This comes from the Mac Mini which is in a rack and work perfectly.

with Apple music now starting Lossless. I wanted to test it out but hit a couple of issues.

apples remote app and Home sharing works but only for song in my library. Not for browsing Apple Music and streaming it or marking it to download to the Mac mini.

if I screen share from another computer to the Mac mini I can do it all however this is not what I want as I am looking for more of a remote that a desktop.

anyone found an app that would do this but is not a screen sharing app.

I would expect one to come as this is new but just incase there is something now I thought I would ask.

Yes, that’s the best solution i could come up with also. However really is nowhere near as good as browsing Apple Music from your iPad/iPhone the hitting a song or album and it immediately plays on your Hi-Fi set up, as it does with Tidal, Roon etc. Such a shame that other have this capability on a Mac however Apple doesn’t.

Lets hope this is added as they move down the Hi-Res route. Doubt it will ever happen but i would love Apple Music added to Roon as their interface is superb!.

what I've had to do is when using an iPad or iPhone to control my Mac mini with my Apple Music + iTunes Purchases:

• Use the iPad or iPhone and search Apple Music

• Add the song, album, or playlist to my library

• Switch to iTunes Remote app and play that song

Hopefully apple will update the Remote app OR you may be able to use AirPlay to the Mac, when iOS 15 and Monterey are available this year.
