Help! Apple moved ALL of my personal files to the iCloud Drive. I was not aware of this action. I tried to move the files back to my Mac but now I can't find my files on my Mac. I am ready to toss this Mac and go back to Windows.

Your personal files should only appear on iCloud Drive, if you move them there or enable the option "Desktop and Documents" folder, when you enable iCloud Drive.
To turn this off, drag the files from the Documents folder on iCloud Drive back to a local folder in your user Home folder, for example create a folder "Documents Local". Do the same for the Desktop documents you do not want on iCloud Drive. Once you have saved all your personal items in local folders, you can disable the option "Desktop and Documents", if you do not want to sync these folders across your devices with iCloud.

I followed the steps you outlined, but not all of my documents made the transfer. Now I can't find them on either my HD or iCloud.
Is Desktop and documents still enabled? Then wait, until all items have appeared again, before you turn it off.
