Medical ID screen still locking up

iPhone 12, trying to set up and update my device and my phone completely locked up when trying to enter information in my medical ID screen. I was able to do a Google search and find a solution but that dated back to November of 2020 and I'm wondering if apple is doing anything to rectify this issue?
