apple music mobile data use
I’m going to ask this outlet because i know others have asked it before but i want to discuss this more in detail because Apple support just does not understand this and that they need to fix this issue.
The issue is that i have been using Muisc for about two months and since i have i have noticed that Apple Music’s mobile data consumption is so high that twice i’ve have to increase my data allowance with my provider.
one month i noticed that music had consumed nearly 40GB of data according to the iphones data usage which is about 80% of my monthly data allowance. i have playlists that i have downloaded to my iphone and there is approx 15gb of music stores so i would assume that music would not need to consume any data unless it was to play a song that was not already downloaded.
mall of these songs in my playlists have been downloaded to my iphone and i listen to them regularly whilst out driving.
i have now got to the point where i have restricted apple music’s mobile data usage completely and now the app won’t even play songs that are downloaded.
What is apple trying to do here? i don’t understand why this app cannot play music offline even with the correct settings. When i asked apple about this they told me to adjust my settings to stop this but the settings they asked me about was already enabled to reduce mobile data usage. They tried to say that this issue has not been reported before and as i type this the app has already used 1GB of data and my allowance rest two days ago. this is me having to enable mobile data just to get my music to play. 1GB seems an insane amount of data to be using just to make the app work.
Ive asked Apple to refund my data charges but they refused. It’s silly how when i was with spotify this was never an issue and now with apple it is.
It’s frustrating that they have not sorted this and claimed that this is not an ongoing issue.
the app should play downloaded songs regardless if you use data or not.
