I have a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020). I have been able to download and watch movies offline with other Macs, but this ones is not able to play them offline, only online which is unfortunate and would want guidance on how to fix this issue. thanks

We see you're unable to watch downloaded movie rentals offline. Once it is downloaded, you should be able to watch offline: Rent movies from the Apple TV app Has it ever worked as expected on this Mac?
We ask that you test in safe mode by following the steps here: Start up your Mac in safe mode If it works in safe mode, restart normally and test again. If it doesn't work in safe mode, let us know the error error message you're getting when trying to play it offline.
Also, if you have another Apple device, we suggest trying it on that to further isolate the issue.

When you attempt to play the movie on your Mac, is it also downloaded or streaming on another device? If so, remove the rental from that device and then attempt to play on your Mac. For more information, review the section labeled "Watch your rental on any device" from the Rent movies from the Apple TV app article.

Were the previously bought movies already downloaded on the Mac? If so, delete the movie and then download it again.

Redownload TV shows and movies in the Apple TV app

I did the startup in safe mode, but it did not work. It just won't start, there is no error message.
It does work in other apple devices, but not on this one.

Unfortunately it does not work either. I just noticed that is not a rental issue. None of the previously bought movies when downloaded are able to play. It only allows to play streaming, but not offline movies. Please advise.
