Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Cannot select my phone number on iMessage send and receive.

I’ve been having this problem for a few months now. It started one day when I woke up and was unable to send text messages to my friends and other peers. I told my family members about this problem and they said the same had happened to them that morning.


I have other numbers connected to my phone because I share an iCloud with another person. Their number seems to work but for some odd reason, mine does not. Whenever I send a message, the other person does not receive the message from my number but from the other.


My first instinct was to check in settings. But the only message is get is the following “Remove Number from iMessage and FaceTime? This number will no longer be used for iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices. You can still use it for regular phone calls and SMS”. It gives me no other options and the number is only left with the loading icon.


Again, I know many others who have experienced the same. I was wondering if anyone could possibly explain it to me so I can get this problem fixed. It has not been a major priority of mine but it has become quite inconvenient in my daily routine.

I am certainly no specialist, but try contacting your carrier. Also, in the iMessage section of your settings try tapping to the right of your number. A blue checkmark should appear. There might be an issue with someone sharing the same iCloud account with you. Then again, I'm sorry as I do not have a ton of experience in this subject.
