Help! My HP scanjet G4050 is not recognizable by my iMac running Big Sur version 11.4 - how to I get this to work? I do not wish to or need to purchase a new scanner.

A quick check at HP's website finds this support page.

HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads


It lists there no drivers for a macOS newer than 10.14 Mojave. It would appear the previous driver is likely a 32-bit application and not compatible with macOS Big Sur (nor Catalina, for that matter).


I would suggest you give a look at VueScan for a Big Sur driver. You can find it here at hamrick.com.
