Apple music stops playing music after 15 seconds.

After a new software update, apple music began to lag. Songs from the library that I downloaded to downloads to listen to offline do not play completely. The problem is that when I listen to downloaded music without the Internet, it plays no more than 15 seconds. Then it stops. For this month I have not yet used the application normally ... I tried to delete all downloads and install again but it doesn’t work.

Hello,

I had a similar issue (iPhone 12 pro, iOS 14.6) and this is how i solved it:

open settings

click on your picture/name on the top to open your apple ID

click on Media and Purchases.

click on sign out (Heads up: this will sign you out from media services such as apple music, news, etc. and also will delete all the already downloaded music)

sign back in with your apple ID

restart your phone

Head to apple music, and re-download the songs you wanted.

My lossless songs would only play for 15 seconds in offline mode, after this it was fixed.

hope this helps,

I have 2 iphone’s that I use on a daily basis. iphoneXs and iphone 12pro both are currently running on ios14.6 and for my music settings I have lossless turned on & dolby atmos turned on too.

Yes it only happens on downloaded music.

It only happens when phone has no cellular or wifi connection.

Playing the same downloaded playlist while having an internet connection plays smooth too.

The only problem is playing downloaded music/Playlist offline.

I use music app 3-4 hrs a day and this has been happening for over a month now and I would like a permanent solution soon. Tbh I always liked Apple Music better over any other streaming services. But, this issue right here makes me think otherwise.

I tried deleting all my downloaded music and redownloading it doesn’t work.

I tried signing out on Apple Music and deleting the app and reinstalling/resinging doesn’t work.

Please put out a solution ASAP.

Dear Apple,

seeing as thousands of customers have already reported the issue with a pretty well description, why don’t YOU attempt reproduction on your side and not place this work on the customers.

If you do not have a device on which this replicates, simply request returns from the community. I am sure anyone would be happy to trade off and let you work directly on the malfunctioning model.

But this is likely a SW issue that can be easily reproduced, so why not go ahead through your outlined questions yourselves and give yourselves the answers you need to solve it.

my 2 cents

I’m having the exact problem with any music not downloaded and it’s started with even songs i have. It’s getting to the point where i can’t listen to anything on here because as soon as it hits 15 seconds the sound stops. Sometimes it’s just that, sometimes a white fail notification shows up and sometimes the whole app decides the shut down

I have done everything suggested. restart, turn off lossless, turn off atmos, download every song in my playlist, try it on wifi, try it on cellular, etc... Nothing works. Music constantly stops playing randomly in almost every song. Tired of messing with it for several months. Connected to the car, headphones, apple tv, homepod, etc... it always stops playing. I have restarted everything over and over. I have cancelled my music subscription and am trying alternate applications. I am very disappointed in this service after years of membership.

Yep same problem here but not with downloaded music. It’s happening on my phone with songs I’m streaming. I use iTunes Match. Don’t know if that’s part of the issue. Happens with and without headphones. Happens when using wifi and data. Very very frustrating bug. If I didn’t have such a huge Apple library and hadn’t spent so much $$ over the years, I’d be out in a heartbeat. Always problems, always bugs. It’s what Apple is becoming known for.

So, is there any fix to this yet because it’s getting really frustrating to not be able to listen to music I’m paying for each month?

The “log out of your iCloud, reset your phone and start over” is not an acceptable fix. That removes all my personal data, Apple Wallet stuff etc. I shouldn’t have to go through setting up all of that stuff again just to hopefully get Apple Music to work. This thread has been going since June and there is no fix from Apple. That is ridiculous given how much we pay for these phones and their services.
