Alarm Clock is not playing downloaded songs from Apple Music

This was happening to me and my husband gave me the easiest fix.

•Thru Apple Music or ITunes, download the song you want to use as your alarm tone.

Voila.

ITS REALLY SINPLE. Forget these paragraphs people are writing. Just go in you Apple Music select the song you where trying to use and make sure it is "downloaded". It will work then!

Is the Apple Music song you’re setting as your alarm downloaded on your phone so it can play without internet?

What I did was I just added the song individually to my Apple library and it started working I would try doing that

It’s because i am an iOS Dev-e-loper (spaced out because they flag those words too often and delete the posts), and they delete any information or help from us if it’s not posted in the forums specific for us. I was having the same problem on the iPhone 13Pro. Now 'Good To Have You Back' (the reworking of the 'OHMSS' Theme from 'No Time To Die' plays like a dream. It's a dark, brooding track to wake up to. Thank you. It was driving me nuts. I wonder why the Dolby Atmos stops it from playing?

Kinda ridiculous to have to repurchase something you already paid don’t you think? I understand this fixed the issue but what this is telling me is all they want is more of your money. All of it… smfh

ever since I switched from the iPhone 10xs to the 12 max pro my alarms will not play music I’ve tried deleting alarms, downloaded music, deleted music you name it. So now I just wake up in awful moods lol

I’m having the same issue. Songs are downloaded in music. Chosen songs from weeks or months ago always work. When adding new song they work only intermittently. I too am thinking a software issue but unsure how to proceed. The weirdest thing is when have multiple alarms with multiple chosen songs my list of songs in the alarm settings changes. For example, the list shown for my 6am alarm differs from the list shown at noon etc. Plus one day 6am plays my chosen song but at noon the chosen song goes missing and the default radar alert goes off. I continue to tinker but it seems either a software issue is the cause or I’m missing a step in setup. Please respond if anyone can problem solve.

This solution worked! Im on iOS 15.4.1. It could have been a bit abbreviated. Like the parts where he/she was intricately describing how to open and close your Clock app, instead of just saying “close and reopen the Clock.” So maybe he or she can revise it to make it more succinct and add some paragraph breaks, so its easier to follow. But if you stick with it, it works! And I appreciate it! Thank you

Same! I’m fact, I’m not sure what the problem is for certain but I see that the songs that have been downloaded for a long time (like JB said) actually are the only ones that work. Sorry, I don’t know how to fix it but you’ll most likely have to wait a while before you can listen to that song when you wake up and hope an update fixes it. 😊

It honestly ****** me off how difficult iphone is about waking up to music. That’s such a basic thing, and i prefer waking up to music playing (continuously, different). So much so that iPhone will not be my next phone.

I experienced it just yesterday and thought maybe turning the phone off and on would help. Not buying any more iTunes if they are not going to download. Hope you are on the right track with the next update. Time will tell!
