MBP fan running continuously - MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
My Mid 2015 MBP suddenly developed an issue with the fan - it keeps running constantly, and the left side of the keyboard where you plug in the charger, and more so the tip of the charger gets super hot - you cannot touch it, that hot!
I tried SMC reset multiple times, no luck. Checked the Activity monitor and found Symantec running at 100%, tried force quitting it and that seemed to work, in a few minutes the fan stopped and the laptop cooled down. However Symantec keeps coming back into action again because its a policy set by the admin i guess. Although this time it is consuming far less CPU load.
Now my question is: 1. is there any other way to fix a specific application from eating up all the CPU load and 2. Why does the tip of the charging cable get so hot?
